A congratulations to our own Ryan Levison as he had his Eagle Scout ceremony today. In addition to being an Eagle Scout, Ryan is a very active member in our organization. Ryan recently graduated the Firefighter 1 course and is currently enrolled in EMT school through the Hunterdon Central Polytech program. Today the squad visited The Kid's House Nursery School in Pottersville and the Three Bridges School with our ambulances. Members explained the importance of when to call 911 and how they can help in an emergency while waiting for the ambulance. The visits concluded with everyone’s favorite, an ambulance tour and stickers!
Thank you to Readington Volunteer Fire Company for hosting this drill last night! It was nice for our crews to get some time to speak with the aircrews who we often only see briefly in during hectic situations. It also was a great reminder on proper procedures for transferring patients!
This morning Rescue BLS 22-55, Heavy Rescue 22-5 and BLS 22-54 responded to a tree fallen on multiple vehicles on Route 202. Units arrived to find 2 patients and a large debris field across Route 202 South. The Heavy Rescue assisted Readington Police with clearing the roadway while BLS assessed and treated patients. Injuries were fortunately minor in nature.
WHRS responded with our Heavy Rescue, Rehab unit, and 3 BLS units to this incident. 9 Firefighters from WHRS provided manpower during fire suppression and overhaul.This morning 4/7/24 at approximately 10:12 AM, the Whitehouse Fire, Whitehouse Rescue, Readington Fire, Engine 18 from Lebanon Borough and Rapid Intervention Teams from North Branch Fire Company and High Bridge Fire Company were all dispatched in the area of Latourette RD for the reported room and contents fire. The Chief from Readington arrived and advised of smoke coming from the 1st floor Alpha, Bravo corner. While crews were trying to make entry, an attack line was put in service to the window of the bedroom that was confirmed to be on fire from the exterior. All occupants were reported to be out of the structure but crews still performed a primary search of the 1st and 2nd floors to confirm the report. Due to no hydrants in the area, the Hunterdon County North Tender taskforce was requested for water supply but then canceled shortly after. The fire was contained to the initial fire room with no extension to the upstairs or surrounding rooms and was placed under control within 30 minutes of the initial dispatch. There were no reported injuries. The fire is under investigation by the Fire Official at this time. ![]()
